Alternactiva — Acção Pela Emancipação Social, expresses deep concern and vehemently condemns the U.S. air strike carried out on Christmas Day in Nigeria, as well as the silence of the Nigerian government. This attack represents a flagrant violation of territorial sovereignty, constitutional governance, civilian protection, and the integrity of Nigeria’s social contract.
As a Mozambican organization committed to social emancipation and justice, we cannot ignore the gravity of this precedent, as the outsourcing of internal security to foreign military powers (without transparency, democratic oversight, or accountability) constitutes a direct affront to the dignity and autonomy of the entire African continent.
In this spirit of brotherhood, we stand in solidarity with the populations of Sokoto, Kwara, and other affected regions, demanding a transparent investigation into the damage caused to civilians and immediate compensation for any loss of life or property. We repudiate the apparent abdication of responsibility by the Nigerian political leadership, reiterating that a nation’s sovereignty must not be ceded under the pretext of foreign military cooperation.
