Adapting the power, transforming the region - regional coalition towards inclusive climate change adaptation (em parceria com Global Aktion)
The project “Adapting power, transforming the region – regional coalition for inclusive adaptation to climate change” arises from a collaboration between Global Aktion (GA) and four of our partners located in Southern and Eastern Africa. It is an initiative that promotes a transformative intersectoral approach to adapting to climate change (AAC) in the Southeast region of Africa, strengthening a coalition of civil society organizations and associated grassroots movements in the region, thus improving their ability to integrate issues of AAC in their social justice work and thus enabling them to advocate for alternative AAC solutions centered on informed local actors and demand-driven interventions.
The project also aims to ensure that civil society is able to have a positive impact on national and regional CCA policies so that they are based on fair, rights-based and transformative approaches to CCA, thereby strengthening the resilience of local populations . In this way, the intervention seeks to prevent the expansion of so-called false adaptation solutions to climate change that undermine the resilience of local populations.
