Research and Popular Education towards climate justice
The project “Towards Climate Justice: community-based strategies against resource appropriation and climate injustice in rural areas of Mozambique” is a research project funded by the Southern Africa Trust (SAT), which aims to better understand how injustices climate change are reproduced through climate change adaptation and mitigation policies in countries with a low ecological footprint. Nevertheless, the study made it possible to understand the local dynamics of this phenomenon, analyzing specific areas of implementation of climate change policies and their implications for the livelihoods of the rural communities of Nhambita and Mabu, in the provinces of Sofala and Zambézia, respectively. Therefore, this proposal contributed to the development of this field of knowledge and, equally important, to social change and climate justice.
